And backpedaling. They support backpedaling. Well, at least one of them does. Of course, we wouldn’t know what all the other members do, because the Freedom Caucus does not disclose its membership. They either admit willingly to being a member themselves, or it’s a super-secret thing they have to drink a lot of Ovaltine to get the decoder ring for. Because, accountability begins with secrecy, right?

Ol’ Mark Meadows, friend to the blue collar worker, opponent of over-regulation and champion for the small businessman, is a member and proud of it. Mark pounded the pulpit for fewer regulations when his party needed support from the people regulations were running out of business, but now that they got what they needed, which is control of the entire gubmint, it’s a different story.

Mark Meadows got up in front of God and everybody and told them more regulation was bad. Said that over-reach of government was detrimental to small business prosperity. People ate it up. Finally, someone understood and was going to fight for a loosening of the gubmint noose. Mark Meadows and the Freedom Caucus were going to stand up for truckers rights and tell the FMCSA to get their Cheerio’s together on the ELD mandate, or delay it, because it was a bad law.

Yeee haa!!

Well, it sounded good, but so does the devil when he’s whispering in your ear to “go ahead, eat the whole cake.” We ate the cake. The trucking industry overwhelmingly supported the party, hell, we brought a boatload of guests, ate the cake and gave it all a good review on Yelp.

We held up our end of the bargain. Guess who didn’t?
