N.C. city bans parking trucks at drivers’ homes
Rocky Mount, N.C.’s city council adopted an ordinance that bans the parking of commercial vehicles and/or trailers longer than 25 feet or weighing more than 10,000 pounds, which includes Class 3-8 trucks, in residential areas.

Small Kentucky town’s 22-year-old ‘Unloading License’ ordinance draws confusion from truckers
Local businesses in West Buechel, Ky., can pay $125 a year for stickers to give to truckers delivering in the town, allowing truckers to park in the city limits. Without a sticker from a local business, truckers would be subject to a $25 fine.

Four western states seek funding for truck parking information system
The I-10 Corridor Coalition, made up of departments of transportation from Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, is seeking a $13.7 million grant through the FHWA to develop a system that would inform truckers about available parking at rest areas through signs along the corridor.
