Digital freight brokerage Loadsmart launched its “Smart Match” tool to boost speed and ease for carriers matching dry van, reefer and port drayage loads to their available trucks. Landstar’s contractor app features fuel-related tools to help owner-operators find the best-priced fuel with discounts.

New low-cost payments/collections platform geared toward small biz
The Melio payments/collections service offers small trucking businesses and brokers the ability to cut a check or directo deposit to a vendor from a bank-account/debit source for no fee — 2.5 percent in the case of a credit card. Similar terms apply for use of the service for easing collections between small businesses, whether carrier or broker.

C.H. Robinson updating ‘Carrier Advantage’ incentive program for partner owner-ops and fleets
Since introduction in 2016, the Carrier Advantage program for first access to freight has updated its internal metrics — on which participating carriers’ scores in it are based — on a quarterly basis. In the new year, that scoring will move to being available and updated on a near-real-time basis.

England Logistics’ new tracking, matching platform
