Intrastate ELD mandates: California enforcement deadline likely to be late 2020, Oregon this year
California is planning to seek an intrastate adoption of the electronic logging device mandate that is likely to impose a deadline of December 31, 2020, for intrastate carriers. Oregon will enforce on the federal timeline Dec. 18 this year.

FMCSA to ask White House to clear split sleeper berth pilot program
The agency Friday said it plans to file its research plan with the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, who must approve the study before the agency proceeds. The move is the latest step toward potential revision of hours of service regs to add long-wanted flexibility for truck operators.
