Ricky âRudeâ Proffitt eyes Bandit Series championship repeat as season opens
Race festivities for this weekendâs race in Mobile, Ala., will kick off at noon Saturday with the Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show that will run throughout the day. A meet-and-greet with Bandit drivers will be held from 4-6 p.m., and the races will begin at 7 p.m.

Bandit truck series opening race postponed a week due to weather
According to series General Manager Jason Johnson, the seasonâs first race at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Ala., has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 24. It was originally set to run this weekend, March 10.

The rig sports a 530-hp Paccar MX-13, an Eaton-Fuller 10-speed and 3:55 rears. Since buying the truck, he has added new graphics, new LED headlights, a 15-inch visor, windshield trim, window chops for the cab and sleeper, along with a Taylor wing for the roof of the cab.

Like father, like son: â95 Pete 379 unconventionally passed to new generation
Jerry Ward bought the rig around the year 2000 and drove it for about 10 years before selling it to a local fleet. In 2014, his son, Jeremy â who always loved the truck â bought the truck back through a lease-purchase program and has been working on improving it since then.
