Mike Wilbur’s 2015 Peterbilt 389
This 2015 Peterbilt 389 glider, owned by Mike Wilbur, features a 1999 Cummins ISX with an 18-speed, Neway suspension, 46,000-pound full-locking axles with 3:55 rears. The rig also sports a 20,000-pound silent drive steerable pusher axle.

The rig sports a 1999-model 550-hp Caterpillar 3406E with 1,650 ft-lb of torque backed by a 13-speed heavy-duty Eaton-Fuller with 3:55 rears.

Green flag drops on 2019 Bandit truck racing series this weekend
The events at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama, will begin with the Fan Series Truck Show at 11 a.m. Gates at the track will open at 3 p.m., followed by a driver meet-and-greet at 5 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

Mike Rust’s 1985 Western Star with 160,000 original miles
The rig is powered by a variable timing mechanical 400-hp Cummins Big Cam 3. Rust says the original owner worked in the film industry and parked the truck in 2006. He bought it two years ago and has put about 12,000 miles on it pulling step deck freight out of Exeter, New Hampshire.

Preston Overstreet’s 1974 Peterbilt 359
The rig was a frame-up restoration that he completed in 1989. Overstreet was a Cat mechanic for a number of years, so he put some work into the Cat 3408 under the hood to bring every rod and piston to the lightest possible weight and gave them extra clearance to try to hit 800 horsepower.

It is powered by a 565-hp Cummins X15 with a Fuller 18-speed. The brand-new truck has not yet had any custom work done on it.

Brandit Franco’s 2012 Peterbilt 389
The rig, which sits on a 270-inch wheelbase, sports a 485-hp Paccar MX13 with a 10-speed and 3:55 rears. Franco has added stainless steel and polished aluminum “to give the truck the classy highlights without being overstated.”

The rig is powered by a 550-hp Cat with a 18-speed and 3:36 rears. The truck sits on a 300-inch wheelbase and pulls a 2018 East tri-axle rated at 120,000 pounds across the deck.

The truck was one of just 64 built that year, Oberle says. The truck features the original 450-hp Mack E9 V8 with a Mack 9-speed.
