ATA, OOIDA split on bills that would guarantee overtime for employee truck drivers
Big names in the Senate and House on Thursday introduced the Guaranteeing Overtime for Truckers Act, meant to amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. OOIDA supports, ATA opposes, and similar bills in the last Congress failed to gain traction.

California puts teeth in emission regs with new 'smog check' system
Truck owners, regardless of the state where the trucks are plated, will be required to pay an annual $30-per-truck fee to California, likewise to submit passing emissions tests twice a year to be able to operate in the state.
