Dave Pittman's 1998 Peterbilt 379

Dave Pittman and his wife, Candace, bought this 1998 Peterbilt 379, "Stella," in 2023 from its original owner out of Davenport, Iowa. The truck features a 1LW Cat 3406E with 2.75 million miles on the clock. The engine and transmission have both been rebuilt and the Pittmans now use it to haul liquefied petroleum gas in the Midwest.

"Trying to keep the old girl looking and running well is a labor of love," Pittman said, adding that his operation is "a family affair" with his wife, three sons and daughter-in-law. "Everyone helps out in their own way. I couldn't do it without any of them."

Pittman is a third-generation trucker who's "been driving since Moby Dick was a minnow. At least that's the way it feels most days," he noted.
