Universal Logistics, one of the country’s largest carriers and operator of Universal Truckload, Universal Dedicated and Universal Intermodal, will provide electronic logging devices to its 3,500 owner-operators free of charge, the company announced Tuesday.
The company said it has entered into an agreement with Pegasus TransTech to provide TransTech Transflo electronic logging devices to its owner-operators.
The Transflo Telematics technology is a bring-your-own device system, meaning a unit will be installed in the operators’ trucks to feed engine data to their smartphone, where they will manage their logs.
