Since we last checked in with Waco, Texas-based Cody Blankenship, he’s put his convertible grain trailer back in the yard and shifted back to utilizing his reefer — and with his blackeyed pea runs in-season from the past in something of a turmoil following the turmoil Allen’s Inc. we wrote a bit about last year, he’s still running it, picking up loads from TransPlace among other sources. He’s managed to put together something of a regular turn moving cheese to Mississippi and chicken for Papa John’s from pickup west of Decatur, Ala., back to Dallas.
Rates are good, he said, at an average around $2 / mile and things are fine, though the sun may well have set on the blackeyed peas, at least for this year. Take a run back through the last haul from the harvest he worked last year via this post, or run back through the images in the gallery below.
