However, Overdrive reported the truck stop chain would be paying $72 million in the settlement — numbers pulled from court documents filed Friday, Nov. 22.
More recent documents filed with the U.S. District Court in Arkansas, however, reveal that number to be about $12 million more than originally reported.
In the settlement approved this week, Pilot will pay $84.9 million. Here’s a breakdown of that sum:
Principle (money owed in fuel rebates): $56.5 million
Interest: $9.75 million
Audit costs: $4.5 million
Attorney’s fees: $14 million (if approved by the court)
Remainder: Attorney’s expenses, incentive awards, fees for notice services, fees for administration services
