Utility receives safety award

Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company has received the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association Annual Safety Award for its Marion, Va., manufacturing plant.

Utility’s Marion plant manufactures 3000R refrigerated trailers. The plant has been honored with the “Category A” award for large trailer manufacturing plants, which have attained over 750,000 hours worked in a year without a lost-time incident. In fact, Utility’s Marion plant worked over 1.89 million hours in 2011 without an incident resulting in days away from work. The TTMA award was recently presented to Marion’s Plant Manager, Brad Starkey.
