Diesel falls 4th week

At Pump 2 OdFor a fourth consecutive week, the national average retail price of diesel fell during the week ended May 30, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. The national average price dropped 4.9 cents to $3.948, the lowest price since April 4.

Prices in all regions dropped, with the Rocky Mountain region leading the way with an 8.1-cent decline to $4.02. California dropped 6 cents a gallon to $4.227, the most expensive. The Central Atlantic decreased 5.6 cents to $4.082, while the Gulf Coast dropped 5.1 cents to $3.884. The West Coast, California, New England and Central Atlantic remained above $4 a gallon.

The record diesel price was $4.764 in July 2008.
