I-90 construction near Seattle started

Cone OdThe Washington State Department of Transportation has begun a project at the Interstate 90 Sunset Way interchange in Issaquah.

Crews are widening East Sunset Way from 6th Avenue N.E. to I-90, adding a sidewalk and replacing a temporary support wall with a permanent support for the wider roadway. Widening the lanes and adding shoulders will improve traffic flow and allow larger vehicles to pass safely, and new sidewalks will make it safer for pedestrians.

There will be some occasional lane closures on Sunset Way during off-peak hours. The work is expected to wrap up by September.
