After his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1985, Clifford Petersen worked as an equipment operator in heavy highway construction in Montana. He began hauling over-the-road in 1993. In 2005, he left the road for work as a freight broker and CDL instructor, returning in 2015 when he also completed a B.S. in psychology and communications at Missouri Western State University. While working over-the-road, he went on to obtain his Masters of Science in Mental Health and Wellness at Grand Canyon University, where he continues work on a PhD in General and Industrial Organizational Psychology. As of 2021, he’d turned well more than 3 million accident-free miles over his career, much of the most recent in a 2018 T680 Kenworth leased to Christenson Transportation out of Springfield, Mo. In late 2022, after a year and a half's worth of a retirement from the road, he returned and continues hauling to this day. He also serves as a Road Chaplain with Channel 21 Ministries, serving truckers and others in the industry, among other pursuits. He can be reached through his Perspectives Psychology website.
